Holland Village, aka ‘Holland V’, is a bit of a Singapore institution. Located in the Southwest of the island, it’s a perennial favourite amongst expats. Holland Village combines a cosy neighborhood feel with a mixture of cafes, restaurants, bars and independent shops.

Crazy, all-night parties. Holland V is a classy spot; things to tend to quieten down around midnight.
Plenty of different types of condominiums, but also a smattering of landed properties.
A calm oasis in Singapore’s urban jungle, with just enough buzz to keep you entertained.
Holland Village is an eternal favourite with Singapore expats, and with good reason. The area has a real neighborhood feel, with all the different amenities you could possibly want, right on your doorstep. It’s a great, low-key, manageable neighborhood.
There is a great selection of Western and European cuisine, as well as a decent hawker centre for you to sample some of Singapore’s favourite dishes.
Holland Village has good links into the city, via the MRT station (Circle Line). In addition, many of the condominiums offer private shuttle services to get you to work and your family to school.
Many of the popular expat clubs are within the vicinity, such as the Hollandse Club, Swiss Club and Tanglin Club.
Whilst Holland Village has lots of great food on offer, it’s not the best place if you want to spend the evening partying. There a few bars, but if you want lively nightlife or a creative cocktail, you are better off heading elsewhere on the island.
Chip Bee Gardens and the north of Holland Road are the places to find landed properties. There are plenty of condominiums too – from smaller, lower-rise blocks, to more modern but bigger developments.
It’s popularity can sometimes mean it’s a little over-priced, but there is always plenty of choice of units, as people come and go.
The Holland Village Shopping Centre might not look as shiny as some of the malls on Orchard Road, but inside it’s a fantastic place to find jewellery, local fashion, homewares, beauty services, and knick-knacks.
Nearby Jalan Merah Saga offers lots of restaurants, shops and local art galleries. There’s also a great butcher, bakery, and cookware shop with enough gadgets to satisfy any budding chef.
