vibrant night live
Food, food and more food. Tanjong Pagar offers everything from cheap but delicious local delights at Maxwell Food Centre, to refined European dining around Duxton.
Big name brands and mall shopping. Tanjong Pagar is all about the intimate, quirky and independent.
High-rise condo living rules supreme in Tanjong Pagar, as space is at a premium. The central location does tend to command a higher price tag and units can be on the smaller side.
The beautiful historic shophouses, relaxed evening atmosphere, and exploring all the little streets to find your favourite spots for coffee, cocktails and culinary delights.
There’s no shortage of places to eat, which is especially helpful if you’re working long hours in the CBD, or just not on good terms with your kitchen! You’ll find loads of wonderful eating and drinking enclaves at the ever popular areas around Duxton and Tras Street. There’s great local food at the Maxwell Food Centre, including the island famous Tian Tian chicken rice. Tanjong Pagar also offers a really central location and is well connected for those needing to get into the CBD.
Whilst there are lots of quirky independent shops, there aren’t any big name brands or big shopping malls in the vicinity. There’s also no ‘Western’ supermarket, though you can pick up some great fresh produce at the local wet markets.
Tanjong Pagar is almost entirely condominiums, although you might be able to find the odd converted shophouse if you’re lucky. Given the central location, it’s the usual trade off of location vs. cost - prices to tend to be high, for a smaller square footage than you might get further out.
The fantastic selection of food and the lively nightlife on offer. If you like being out and about once the sun goes down, you’ll love Tanjong Pagar. Weekends are quieter and you can enjoy a leisurely brunch, before exploring the small shophouse lined streets, such as Craig Road or Everton Park, or admiring some of the fabulous bridal shops which line Tanjong Pagar Road!
